Q: Near the end of the Cleanup installation, I get the following message:
Error processing command Toolbar Add c:\Program Files\DeBry\Cleanup.exe,
Cleanup. Cannot open the custom toolbar storage file. It is either locked or
Metastock has not been installed yet. What does this mean?
A: The installation of the Cleanup tool succeeded, but an attempt to add
a toolbar button to the custom toolbar in MetaStock failed, probably because you
have a version of MetaStock previous to 7.0. Cleanup is installed and will work
properly.
Q: I have just loaded Cleanup and tried to delete
the older Metastock data, i.e. I have used "only delete stocks not updated for
at least 30 days". The result is that no stocks conform to the delete criteria.
(although when I look at the data there is indeed many hundreds).
A: This is a problem unique to our Australian customers.
It seems that an Australian data vendor still "updates" stocks that have stopped
trading, using the close from the last day of trading (so there might be 90 days
with the exact same closing price). Cleanup can't tell that this is bogus data.
You can see if this is the case by opening a datasheet in the DownLoader. You
could try deleting these securities by using the minimum volume setting (although
that might delete securities you want). Or you may have to delete these
securities by hand.
